Have a safe and fun Fall Break! 🍁

NHS National Honor Society members and Ms. Tarr spent two hours beautifying the flower bed on the corner of Craig and Ogden in Ossian. They weeded and spread 30 bags of mulch. The residents, Ossian Methodist Church members and business owners in the area really appreciate how this looks now. Thanks so much for working together to create this change. Special thanks to Mr. Dodane for helping, too!

Students at Norwell High School took a few minutes to write brief thank you notes to honor our custodial staff for the outstanding job that they do each day. When asked to do this, the ideas came easily. Notes included thank you's for fixing jammed lockers, for cleaning up spills, and for helping to make our learning environment better. Our custodians are the best!

FFA Members enjoyed their kick off party!

On Friday, Miss Gaier's US History classes capped their week off with a food lab making hardtack and Johnny cakes as they share about the Civil War soldiers they researched. One of the soldiers researched was George Washington Plummer, a local Wells County resident from Tocsin who served in the 101st Indiana Infantry and returned from the war to raise a family in the area. He is buried in Bluffton.
The students' verdict on the soldiers' rations is that the hardtack is generally better, and the Johnny cakes taste like "dirt and corn".
