Senior Alana Longardner has been selected to receive the Norwell Intern of the Week Spotlight award. She has been doing her experience at Ossian Elementary School with kindergarten teacher Breanna Newell in conjunction with the Norwell Work Based Learning Program. Alana is the daughter of Paige Cayot and Justin Longardner.
Assisting in the kindergarten classroom has allowed Alana to observe Miss Newell with her classroom management skills, time management, and behavioral management techniques with the children. She has been a part of planning lessons and leading activities with the entire group of students. Alana has also learned about assessments where she has done one on one conferences with the students. This involves grading and quizzing the students with their numbers and alphabet.
After graduation, Alana plans to attend PFW to study psychology. Her ultimate career goal is to become a trauma therapist.
