Senior Alena Chandler has been selected to receive the Norwell High School ICE Student Spotlight award. Alena is employed at NWCS in the Ossian Elementary School Latchkey Program with supervisor Kristina Riley in conjunction with the Norwell ICE Program. She is the daughter of Steven and Annette Chandler.
As a Latchkey assistant, Alena's main responsibility is to ensure a safe environment for the children grades K-5. A big part of safety at the Latchkey is verifying that parents sign their child in or out of the latchkey. Other duties include leading activities and helping the students with their iPads. Alena works in the mornings from 6:30 to 9 a.m. and also in the afternoons from 3:15 to 6 p.m.
After graduation, Alena plans to study early childhood education which is considered grades K-3. She plans to get her college education at PFW.
