What Makes NHS Special?

Welcome to Norwell High School, where student success is our top priority.  Our mission is “Ready for What’s Next”. We strive to assist all students in developing the skills, attitudes, and values necessary to achieve their potential and realize their personal goals. Our entire staff is committed and takes great pride in meeting the needs of our students academically, emotionally and socially.

Upon entering Norwell High School you will find a variety of activities, classes, and facilities that we use to strive toward our mission. A $15 million dollar revitalization of our building was completed in the fall of 2014, students experience 21st century classrooms that will include an interactive Smartboards, 60” smart TV’s, Wi-Fi, and wireless connectivity from their laptop computers. In addition to the technology, students will be able to work at tables and chairs, rather than the small and inflexible desks of the past. Students will now be able to work with peers in collaborative groups much like the workplace.

The academic variety is second to none for a school our size. We offer four distinct diplomas, advanced placement and dual credit courses in science, social studies, mathematics, language arts, project lead the way, and career technical education.

When you combine the academics and extra curricula’s, along with developing a young man or woman to realize their potential, Norwell is a great place for students.

Dual Credit Initiative

Beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year, Norwell High School began restructuring the curriculum and course offerings to include more Dual Credit courses. This paradigm shift has given Norwell students the ability to earn 30+ college credits by the time they graduate.  We have increased our course offerings to over 50 in recent years allowing students to be able to complete their freshman year of college while in high school. This commitment has saved our students and families hundreds of thousands of dollars in tuition costs.
